Kim Boon is a fully qualified Sports Therapist, Tutor, Assessor and ASA Swim Coach. She treats many local people and athletes of all levels at OWENSIS Sports Therapy Clinic. She brings not only the experience she has gained from these qualifications; but also her enthusiasm and passion for swimming and coaching swimmers/triathletes into KimOSwim, her new business venture.
Her own Open Water swimming achievements to date include: Local lake races, Lake Coniston, Lake Windemere, Lake Bala, Torbay, Champion of Champions, Eton 10k, Channel Relay 2010 and Channel Solo 2011. All these events, the pool and open water training programmes and cold water acclimatisation, mean she has a wealth of experience to offer. Currently she still enjoys competing in open water swim races, triathlons and cycle sportives.
Pool swimming has its place, and is still an important part of a balanced training programme, especially if you wish to compete strongly in the summer months. Kim coaches using the Swim Smooth method alongside her own unique, effective and motivational coaching style!
In the winter, the pool provides an opportunity for base and technique/stroke work when the open water becomes colder and therefore unaccessible for most!
Kim can also provide swimmers and triathletes with advice and training programmes for their upcoming events. Please contact her for details.
KimOSwim was set up in 2014 to encourage all levels of swimmers/triathletes to enjoy swimming more and embrace the open water! KimOSwim offers the opportunity to improve your swimming in both environments. Open Water swimming is very different to pool swimming.
Different skills and knowledge are required, so you can swim effectively and safely. Kim aims to encourage everyone to enjoy the great outdoors in every way we can!
